Sophie Stableford

I’m Sophie and I’ve been in the world of podiatry for over 20 years. I always wanted to do a medical degree, and came across podiatry as a profession when my Grandma use to have regular treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. I instantly saw what a difference it made to her life, keeping her out of pain as much as possible and this inspired me to go on and study the 3 year course. I come from a medical family background, so it has definitely been in me to pursue my passion in helping others and find holistic solutions.

About me

I spent 16 years in the NHS as a senior specialist podiatrist after qualifying, which involved treating really serious foot complications. Believe it or not, a lot can go wrong with feet, so I have definitely seen the other side, but nothing ever phases me. I ran specialist clinics in woundcare and nail surgery. I also loved having students with me on placements and supported them to develop their passion for all things foot and lower limb.

I then went on to work at various private podiatry clinics in the North West, and finally decided to go all in on my own mobile practice. I continue with further training and conferences to remain registered and love treating people in their own homes including children.

I know what its like to have foot issues following a stroke I had in 2020 and I've previously had nail surgery for an ingrown nail. Its amazing how these things can stop life in its tracks. So instead of trying to seek the solution with Dr.Google, get your problem assessed and treated with me first. I promise I will do my best to get you back on your feet and loving life once again.

What Else I am Passionate About

When I am away from feet, because lets face it, we all need a break once in a while, these are some of my biggest passions:

  • I love Ibiza for its culture, dancing, and amazing chill out vibes
  • I am a huge lover of coffee, cheese, chocolate and candles! Who doesn’t!
  • I also have another business where I offer hypnobirthing antenatal classes to expectant parents. I love educating and teaching tools and techniques they can use to empower them through the whole process. I strongly believe everyone should know the pros and cons of any intervention when it comes to their body! This is also what I do in the podiatry world, informing patients of their different options to various treatments.
  • I enjoy connecting with people from other businesses and love attending local business groups and professional conferences.
  • You might notice I love lilac and pink, hence the uniform!
  • My two children keep me going and we enjoy lots of family time together
  • I am a big fan of meditation, holistic health and soul retreats

My Values

Preventing problems before they really take hold is key. Too many people put off an issue which can then take longer to resolve. Unfortunately with our NHS services, provision of care is preserved only for the more serious cases within podiatry. GP appointments are also now more difficult to ascertain. Therefore the first point of contact now tends to be private podiatry services.  Lets get your problem sorted and if needed, liaison with GP care or NHS services can be completed.

I believe that people should be educated on their health and what can impact it. That’s why when I treat patients/ clients I explain the problem or issue that they present with. Your health is a number one priority, and understanding more about your body enables you to seek the right treatment at the right time. Our general health can directly impact our feet, and as professionals we can come across issues that haven’t been picked up on. It’s always best to get things checked, so get in touch today.

I will always listen to your problems and issues. I have a good friendly ear and talk to my patients/ clients about all sorts. We all have many things going on in our lives, so talking can help everyone. Mental health is just as important as our physical health, so don’t be afraid to really discuss all that you want to discuss.

I offer a choice of available appointment times and dates to suit you. I also can do some visits on Saturdays. Life can be busy for everyone, so get in touch so we can discuss when may be best for a visit to be slotted in.

Thank you for your kind words

I love to hear all the comments from my patients

“...my feet feel amazing...”

I recently had a chiropody treatment with Sophie for the hard skin on my feet, and I must say she was outstanding. I was experiencing significant discomfort, but after the treatment, my feet feel amazing. Sophie is exceptionally knowledgeable and provides a mobile service, which is incredibly convenient. Highly recommended!
